Meet Our Staff

Tom McKibbanTom McKibban, CRNA, MS
Tom is president of and co-founder of MAAP, LLC. He has been with the group for over 32 years. He received his nursing diploma from St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, KS and anesthesia diploma from Physicians School of Nurse Anesthesia in Wichita, Kansas. He has earned a bachelors degree in Health Care Administration from Ottawa University and a masters in nurse anesthesia from the University of Kansas. Tom’s current practice emphasis is pain management and anesthesia. He has been providing anesthesia services at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital for over 32 years.

He has always been active in leadership activities. He is a past president of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetist, Kansas Association of Nurse Anesthetist and USD 490 Board of Education. He serves on many professional and civic committees and currently is Mayor of El Dorado, Kansas. Tom is also a board member on the Susan B. Allen Hospital Foundation Board.

Patient safety has been an emphasis in his career and he has lectured on the subject across the US. He currently serves as a founding board member on the Council on Surgical and Perioperative Safety (www.cspsteam.org) and has worked directly with The Joint Commission on various patient safety issues.


Kevin JacobsKevin Jacobs, CRNA, MS
Kevin is a lifelong resident of Kansas. He received his Bachelors degree in nursing from Emporia State University. Upon graduation Kevin obtained his intensive care experience at Salina Regional Health Center in Salina, KS. Kevin received his Masters degree in Nurse Anesthesia from The University of Kansas in Kansas City, KS. Kevin is a partner with Mid-America Anesthesia Professionals and has been with the group since 2003.


Aric DeYoungAric DeYoung, CRNA MS
Aric has been a CRNA for the past 8 years. During that time he has provided anesthesia in the hospital, outpatient, and clinic settings. Prior to becoming a CRNA Aric worked in the critical care area for 5 years, was a supervisor for 2 years, and the VP for patient care services for 3 years. In addition to this Aric served in the US Army as an anesthetist for 8 years, was deployed twice, and was honorably discharged in 2008. Aric holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Dakota, a Masters of Science from Regis University, and a Masters of Science in Anesthesia from Newman University. Aric and his family currently reside in Andover, KS.


Jason BurkJason Burk, CRNA, MS
Jason grew up and currently lives in El Dorado with his wife and their two children. After high school, Jason attended Coffeyville Community College and graduated in 1997 with a Mobile Intensive Care Technician (Paramedic) certificate. Jason went on to attend Butler County Community College and graduated with an Associates in Applied Science degree in 1999. He then transferred to the University of Kansas and graduated with his Bachelors degree in Nursing in 2001. Before attending nurse anesthesia school, Jason obtained his critical care experience at Wesley Medical Center in the Emergency Department and Surgical Intensive Care Unit. Jason graduated from Texas Wesleyan University in 2006 with his Masters Degree in Nurse Anesthesia and has worked at Mid-Anesthesia Anesthesia Professional since.


Salem CairnsSalem Cairns
Salem is a lifelong resident of Kansas. She received her Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Fort Hays State University. Salem worked in the intensive care unit in Salina and in the dialysis unit in Salina as well. Prior to school, Salem also worked in the Cardiac ICU at Via Christi in Wichita. Salem attended Newman University for her Master's degree in Nurse Anesthesia. Salem joined the group in 2012.
